I really, truly love in home sessions. Clients feel a sense of comfort in their own homes. If the session is due to a new baby joining the family, don’t even worry about cleaning the house! Feel free to push things to one side of the room. We won’t see it! As for where in the home, we will shoot in any room with a good amount of natural light. Often times, it will be in the new baby’s nursery along with the living room or parents’ room.
Clothing can be casual but still complimentary of each other. For new mamas, please wear something you feel comfortable and pretty in! It can be hard to feel good in ANYTHING right after giving birth. I know it. Choose a flowy house dress, a baggier shirt, a romper, if it seems appealing to wear after recently having a child, wear it! Neutral, soft colors are going to look the best among your home! Goodness, feel free to put baby into a simple white onesie! We want to focus on baby’s features and the new family.
