Extended Family Pictures in Utah – Fordham. Welcome back to Guardsman Pass for another beautiful extended family photo session! First, I loved how their shades of blue for outfits popped against the green quakie trees! It felt very light soft and and airy for their summer photos.

Imagine being able to get this many people together. They didn’t even have everyone from a couple families, but this was still such a success! But when you are able, capture it with extended family pictures! As families get older and continue to grow, it’s not likely to happen often. Also, with this many people, time is of the essence! I move as fast and efficiently as possible to get every individual family, couples, and kids before time and lighting is up.

Side not, did you know Guardsman Pass is also know as Empire Pass past a certain point? It took me until a couple years ago to realize it! It makes sense though with two different canyon/passes meeting.

Utah Wedding Photographer – Kylie&McKay Bridals. The night of this session was honestly so nuts! Don’t worry, the bride would absolutely agree! Meet my cousin Kylie. I got about six minutes away from the location we had chosen when I turned back around. I had received a few texts from Kylie and her sister explaining that their car was overheating and that they needed to stop to let it cool down. McKay was already at the chosen location waiting. 1. We couldn’t leave him waiting too long. 2. We couldn’t let him be the one to drive down and see her dress before the first look! And 3. We couldn’t risk losing the light. So back down I headed!

It’s fine! With some calm music and all the cold air on full blast, we made it! And then looooook at his happy face when he got to see her! Just shows that things don’t always go as planned, so be prepared. And make sure you are able to get stunning bridals by the end of the night!

Utah Newborn Photographer – Daughtry. I love them I love them! I’m grateful for every family that allows me in their home to capture their newborn, but it’s so stinking special when it’s one of your best friends! It took these two a minute to decide on a third, and they were blessed with the sweetest little boy. He is SO loved by his sisters and family.

Let’s also take a moment to be in awe of his nursery. My friend is so good at home decor! I seriously can’t put this many things together in my head and know if it will turn out good in real life. The national parks blanket and prints were absolutely darling! And the little canoe! I may be there to capture shots of babies and families, but I have to grab the details too!

High School Senior Orchard Photos – E. Spring brings a sense of renewal, making a blossoming orchard the perfect location for high school senior portraits for this beautiful girl! I have to plug in that her mama went all out for her! Mama helped plan outfits, ordered a cap and gown solely to use for pictures, and she communicated with me back and forth with me about the crazy almost rain on the day of the session. Such a wonderful mama!

High school senior sessions always give me a huge sense of life and the huge journey it is! They are just entering real life and starting to depend on people other than their parents. It feels so big! And the possibilities are absolutely endless.

During any session, I try to make sure I capture any specific shot requests. I’m even more adamant when it’s a senior session. I want to be creative and do poses that will fit each senior the best, but I even more so want them to feel comfortable and excited about their session!

Jordan Pines Maternity Pictures – Tao. Winter in the mountains creates such a breathtaking backdrop for sessions! I especially love early winter in the mountains. There’s a small amount of snow and slightly frosted trees to create a magic wonderland, but it’s not completely freezing! Oof and that light. I can’t believe this session was over a year ago now. This sweet family was awaiting their newest arrival!

Big brother wanted nothing to do with me at first! But I simply encouraged them to play and tickle him to bring out some sweet smiles. They were both so patient and warm with him. You can tell he is incredibly loved because he was happy to just be held and cuddled by mom and dad. It’s worth the patience to get those smiles!

Here’s to new bundles of joy and the excitement of new beginnings! I hope you are all having a lovely new year and such a beautiful clean start to your 2025. Happy January!

Business Headshots – Knotty Braids. Get it? Knotty Braids?? These two joined forces for their braiding, and they decided to rebrand to incorporate both of them into the one business. Honestly, the talent they have for the tight, tight braids they do is mind blowing! My fingers would hurt so bad by the end of the day.

We had the best time at Birdhouse Studios in West Jordan! It can take a minute to warm up, especially when doing individual portraits. Three girls hyping each other up sure helped though! Our goal was fun, natural shots that show off their personality and new brand. I definitely would like to say we accomplished it!

Fall Family Pictures Guardsman Pass – Ottley. Throwing it back to Fall 2023! Yes, that’s how far I am behind with showing you all of the wonderful families I’ve been able to capture!

This was my first year attempting catching the yellow colored quakies/aspens up Empire Pass. There were some colors! But it was a little more green still than I had hoped. Luckily, every family that evening was actually excited for the green mixed with yellow, so it worked out! But just you wait until I post the yellows from Fall 2024. I absolutely nailed it with scheduling this last year!

I want to say this was my fourth or fifth time photographing these wonderful humans! I’ve been able to see these sweet girls each year and see how big they’ve grown. It’s the very best part of being a photographer in my opinion! Their little personalities show even more now than when I first met them.

Bold Black & Neutrals Family Picture Outfits. Coming into 2025 with a Really good neutral color scheme for family photo outfits! Or even high school senior or maternity outfits! A couple light shades with a few dark, bold colors will keep everything neutral but with a pop!

Now that I’m looking at this color scheme, I’m realizing I did almost the exact colors for my own family session with my friend back in July! Pops of dark with some greens against the green mountains turned out so so good!

Senior Pictures Green Hills – N. Oh my goodness. This weather was so perfect in my opinion for this location! Open shade is ideal when taking photos, but this location 1. Has about one tree for open shade that isn’t even by the green hill and 2. Is technically facing the wrong way for an evening session. But rain sprinkled for a while, giving us nice overcast light, and then a golden light spread over the hills!

I honestly don’t shoot at this location often because of the two reasons above, but I love it when I do and get this lucky. It’s like stepping into Ireland! Not that I’ve been.. someday! But stepping into “Ireland” with this stunning senior was such a dream. She was a champ, even with it being super chilly. Her mom and I even convinced her to lie on the damp, long grass to get some of her requested shots. They turned out so so pretty! These are making me incredibly excited for the 2025 high school senior photo season!

Albion Basin Wildflower Mini – Bishop. Can I brag and say that I have the best, most beautiful hearted friends?? I met this darling mama when our two oldests were just babies. We were both overwhelmed by a new church ward and instantly made a connection. We spent the next couple years on walks and pregnant with more babies, I’ve had the chance a few times to capture her family as her kiddos grow!

This evening of mini sessions was completely up in the air weather wise. Their session was first, and it was sprinkling rain almost the entire session. The light did shine through by the end, but the rain continued on and off! No matter, these three kiddos were happy and willing to smile and adventure!

I may happen to know that my friend’s husband turned one of their walking across the hill photos into a paint by number canvas for her as a surprise for Christmas! How stinking cool is that??
