Keep the focus on the subjects!
There are already many things in your home that could possibly distract from your session. If you choose colors that clash with your home, those items will stand out when really the focus needs to be on your family and you! Choosing a more neutral color palette for your in home photo session will help that focus stay on you.
White Onesies for life!
If your session includes a newborn, I will always, always, always suggest babies be in a plain white onesie for at least part of your session! You can swap out different (not too busy) swaddles, but let’s let the plain white onesie help keep the focus on baby and all the little newborn details.
